sketches
kjwolverton@aol.com Touring 37 states with CHALK-TALK, I traveled a thousand miles a week or more to go from school to school. In two seasons I performed in over 300 schools to somewhere around 140,000 students. To keep up my enthusiasm creating so much art everyday, I would do something new in the finale of my show. Often I wouldimprovise what ever came to my mind with the aid of new music, but some music worked beter so on the road, I would sketch out an idea for the next days show. Below are just a few of those sketches... |

Most of the imagery came from my imaginations with the help of
ethnic or "world" music, but sometimes when I was in big cities I would
go to art museums or social events such as soccer games, horse
races, car shows, etc., and sketch from life situations. The drawings
were just a starting point as they were always in black and white
whereas the finale piece was in full color and appropriate for age
groups or specific requests that fit with a school's curriculum. I used
my nick-name "Wolfy" as my show-name persona.
